Age when you started singing

I started taking singing lessons when I was 7 years old, and I think it was a repertoire built solely of Disney songs for the first two years!

Favourite opera or musical

Some of my favourite operas include La Traviata, Carmen and Turandot. My favourite musicals would have to be Phantom of the Opera and Hamilton just based off the sheer amount of times I’ve listened to those soundtracks and never grown tired of them.

Favourite role to perform

It’s too hard to pick a favourite! Each role brings new challenges and aspects of human behaviour and personalities to explore. My favourite thing is just getting to inhabit different characters all the time.

A fun fact not many people know about you

I spend my spare time rock climbing and did my first outdoor climb in Thailand.

Where’s the strangest place you’ve performed?

I once performed at the Naracoorte Caves in South Australia. Bats actually took off from the ceiling when I hit the high notes in my aria!

Quotes

"The best of the lot is Georgia Wilkinson as Sophie, a bubbly coloratura soprano, and Wilkinson plays her so winningly that it is hard to take your eyes off her, even when she is simply standing side stage observing Callas."
